Dr. Gene Emmer is the author of the Belly Band Website. Gene has a doctorate degree in human physiology. Gene is NOT an OB/GYN. A physiologist is educated and trained to conduct medical and medically related research, not to practice clinical medicine.

Gene got interested in belly bands during his wife's recent pregnancy. Knowing nothing about belly bands before the pregnancy Gene decided to research the subject and create this website so that other parents could also benefit.

While Gene believes in the use of belly bands, there may be some reasons that your doctor would prefer that you not use one or that you use a particular type of belly band.
